Last Saturday, Seattle summoned their inner Zombie and the horde of the Undead walked their back into the history books to return their prized Zombie world record back to Fremont for their annual Red White and Dead Zombie Block Party, where over 7,000 people attended the big 4th of July event with a staggering 4,233 confirmed Zombies for new Guinness World Record.
ZomBcon’s Artistic Director, Ryan Reiter and Seattle Zombie Zombie Walk‘s Eric Pope brought Seattle the big title last summer shattering the original record of 894 with a staggering 3,894 Zombies. Shortly thereafter receiving the Guinness World Record at San Diego Comic Con 2009, England edged them out for a new world record of 4,026. Organizers vowed to return the title back to U.S. soil this 4th of July and called upon Seattle to help make world history once again.
Organizers of the popular 4th of July worked hard to make sure the crown came back to Seattle, known as the Zombie Capital of the World and the home of the world’d first dedicated Zombie Convention, ZomBcon 2010. Organizer, Ryan Reiter discusses the recent cult success of their summer event by saying “Everyone has an inner Zombie and this is 100-% crowd participation and what makes this event such a fan favorite and Thank every single Zombie who helped us reclaim the title to Seattle, as the “Zombie Capital of the World”.
With success, comes new opportunities and bigger ambitions. This year marks the debut of ZomBcon 2010 at the Seattle Center with one of the most unique conventions to hit the circuit in the last ten years. Aside from over 80 exhibitors of cool , it also offers some of the biggest names in entertainment world like Bruce Campbell and George A. Romero to the scientific world with
