Author Steve Mockus Illustrations by Travis Millard Published by Chronicle Books

ZomBcon is very proud to announce author, Steve Mockus will be a featured guest at this year’s convention. Mockus is the author of the popular book, How to Speak Zombie: A Guide for the Living.

Pretty cool you say? Well, the folks at ZomBcon are teaming up with Mockus to bring this book to life for one of ZomBcon’s fun, interactive fan workshops for all ages this Halloween weekend.

ZomBcon’s Artistic Director Ryan Reiter discovered the book from a friend who gave it to him while shopping at Barnes and Noble one afternoon. Reiter says ” I immediately fell in love with the book’s playfulness and loved how each page had a sound effect button to compliment the story, I couldn’t stop laughing, I kept pressing the button that would said “Brains”, it brought me right back to my childhood”.

So this year come freshen up on your your Zombie native tongue. You never know when you might run into a Zombie around Halloween and this course may just save your life. Here’s your chance to learn how to survive the living dead for a fun, quick entertaining tutorial for avid Zombie fans.

Here is a bit more about the book itself written by Think Geek website and invite you all to pick this book up at your local Barnes and Noble.

Remember that scene in that zombie movie where the people survive by adopting the mannerisms and speech patterns of the zombie horde? They walk right through the undead and nobody even notices them. Totally the best idea ever, right? (Admit it, it’s in your notebook under “Ideas On How To Survive Zombie Invasion.”) You’ll need a way to blend into the horde and avoid being eaten while you’re ordering a latte from a zombarista and shopping at a zombie-infested mall.
This guidebook features an electronic sound module so you’ll be able to learn proper zombie pronunciation. Remember, it’s “RAHHHhh!” not “Rawr” or “Raaaaah.” Helpful text explores the customs and etiquette of living in a zombie world and detailed illustrations will let you peek into the everyday lives of the undead as they’re working on their muscles or dancing at a local club. The all-purpose BRAINS button can be used in any situation, deadly or otherwise. Learning zombie is like learning any other language; it just takes time and patience. You’re running out of time, so we suggest picking up this book ASAP and making with the learning. (Book review taken from Think Geek)
